ROLFING® TEN-SERIES

The hallmark of Rolfing® Structural Integration is known as the Ten-Series, the goal of which is to systematically balance and optimize both the structure (shape) and function (movement) of the entire body over the course of ten sessions. Each session focuses on freeing restrictions or holdings trapped in a particular region of the body. At the same time, the practitioner also maintains a holistic view of the client's entire system to ensure the transformational process evolves in a comfortable and harmonious way.

 

The Ten-Series is divided into three units.

 

SESSIONS 1-3 | THE SLEEVE

These first three sessions are intended to loosen and balance surface layers of your connective tissue.

 

Session One is devoted to enhancing the quality of breath with work on your arms, ribcage, and diaphragm. We work also start opening movement along the upper leg, hamstrings, neck, and spine.

 

Session Two balances the foot and muscles of the lower legs and then relates this sense of support to the spine to establish a stable foundation.

 

Session Three involves a "side view" of how the head, shoulder girdle, and hips are positionally related to one another when we're standing.

 

 

SESSIONS 4-7 | THE CORE

These sessions are focused on the parts of the body from the bottom of the pelvis to the top of the head. We also incorporate the legs in these sessions for their role in supporting the core.

 

Session Four integrates the feet and legs to the pelvis, working from inside the arch of each foot.

 

Session Five addresses balancing surface and deep abdominal muscles to the curve of the back.

 

Session Six seeks to provide increasing support and movement from the legs, pelvis, and lower back.

 

Session Seven focuses sole on the neck and head, and how it relates to the core.

 

 

SESSIONS 8-10 | THE INTEGRATION

These final sessions are an opportunity to fully integrate sessions one through seven in a way that establishes smooth movement and natural coordination.

 

Sessions Eight and Nine provide an opportunity for Stefan and his client to further and fine-tune new connections.

 

Session Ten completes the series with rededication to feeling and living in an aligned and joyful body.
